Grace

By Catherine Roig

Today during my meditation, I felt the overwhelming, unconditional love and compassion of Goddess Quan Yin.

Quan Yin is one of the major deities in Buddhism and is also known as Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. The energy that Quan Yin expresses is similar to what a mother feels toward her child.  Her energy is fierce, loving and protective and is much stronger than what we would normally associate with compassion. Legend says that, even though Quan Yin attained enlightenment, before she entered Heaven’s Gate, she heard the cries of the world. She decided to return to help humankind find the right path.

I feel a deep connection to Quan Yin and she often accompanies me during my meditations.  Today she gave me the word Grace to focus on. I’d like to share some of the insight I had on the word Grace.

The word Grace has many meanings including beauty, elegance, charm, mercy, harmony and divine love.  A simple definition is the experience of awe, gratitude and unconditional love.  Being in harmony with ourselves, others and the Higher Power creates the Cosmos. Grace is the spiritual freedom that comes when we realize that life is a gift.  Grace is the feeling of happiness, spiritual, emotional and mental freedom.

Grace can be seen in three steps:

  1. A process of Awakening to Reality, Bliss and Compassion. Realizing that the Universe holds blessings that will support us in a life of abundance and joy.

  2. Unconditional love, gratitude, blessings, acceptance, joy, serenity and inspiration.

  3. To be energized and inspired to share joy through compassion and creativity with others. This could look like a smile or encouraging word.

While being in Grace we automatically channel Divine Love. Grace is an abundant overflow of love. The Law of Grace brings the wisdom and truth that we are loved unconditionally. The Law of Grace asks us to surrender the struggle and accept the

flow of love from the heart of source. Imagine a river of light and love supporting you, loving you and bringing you home to the heart of your divine self.

Quan Yin reminds us to face challenges by connecting with Grace, to practice having this flow through our thoughts, feelings and emotions.  Notice what shifts happen from this and how these shifts affect our relationships with ourselves and with others.

Thank you, Quan Yin
